Luke 15:11-32

In the story of the prodigal story, the younger son demands his inheritance early so he can flee from under his father’s authority and make a life for himself. I see myself in him, Lord. There are times I think there’s more joy, freedom, and purpose apart from you.

Just like the younger son, though, I always end up in the lowest of lows just to realize I was meant to find my identity in you. And just like the father in the story, you are ready for me to turn and come back to you. Thank you for your incredible love toward me. Help me to recognize the times I want to run from you, and instead fight to trust you.
