“When Jesus had spoken these words, he lifted up his eyes to heaven, and said, “Father, the hour has come; glorify your Son that the Son may glorify you, since you have given him authority over all flesh, to give eternal life to all whom you have given him. And this is eternal life, that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom you have sent. I glorified you on earth, having accomplished the work that you gave me to do. And now, Father, glorify me in your own presence with the glory that I had with you before the world existed.”
Jesus, John chapter 17 shows us your prayer to the Father before your death on the cross. In it we get a glimpse into your heart.
Jesus, you are the Son of God, who glorifies the Father by being obedient in your life, death, and resurrection, and therefore accomplishing what you were sent to do. Seek and save sinners so that we can come to know God personally and have eternal life with Him.
Jesus, you and the Father shared glory together “before the world existed.” Thank you for the Trinity! Jesus, as the Son of God, you have always been the object of the Father’s love. Father, you have always been pouring out your love to the Son. Now, through Jesus, we can become sons of God who are loved by the Father. Thank you Jesus for your work!
