Jesus, you made the Father known to us. Our sin kept us from knowing Him personally and intimately, but you came to show us exactly what He is like because you are the “radiance of his glory and the exact imprint of his nature,” (Hebrews 1:3).
You tell us that the gift of eternal life is knowing God. I pray we wouldn’t be confused about our goal, I pray we wouldn’t be confused in what we’re chasing after, Lord. We want to know you!
God, would you please “give us the Spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of you, having the eyes of our hearts enlightened,” (Ephesians 1:17-18). We need you to draw close to us, so that we can draw closer to you. We need you to open our eyes to see you and open our hearts to receive you.
I pray that we would open our hands so that we let go of everything else, so that we can lay hold of you.
